NYC Subway Car 983

The Craggy Mountain Line is very pleased to announce the acquisition of working trucks for our 1935 R-6-3 restoration project. The trucks were salvaged from a recently decommissioned R-32 subway car in New Jersey. The acquisition trucks, hardware and other components were made possible through the assistance and cooperation of Sims Metal Management.

We’d like to extend our sincere thanks and appreciation to Sims Metal Management and to everyone involved in assisting with the restoration and preservation of such a historic car. Car 983 will stand proudly, and in a much more authentic way, atop her new trucks in our depot complex.
